Successive Cancellation Decoding of Single Parity-Check Product Codes: Analysis and Improved Decoding

نویسندگان

چکیده

A product code with single parity-check component codes can be described via the tools of a multi-kernel polar code, where rows generator matrix are chosen according to constraints imposed by construction. Following this observation, successive cancellation decoding such is introduced. In particular, error probability over binary memoryless symmetric channels under characterized. bridge analysis introduced Elias also established for erasure channel. Successive list then described. For provided example, simulations input additive white Gaussian channel show that outperforms belief propagation applied graph. Finally, performance concatenation high-rate outer investigated distance spectrum analysis. Examples concatenations performing within 0.7 dB from random coding union bound provided.

Single parity check product codes

This paper considers the performance of single parity check (SPC) multidimensional product codes in an Additive White Gaussian Noise channel. Asymptotic performance bounds are derived and compared to simulation results. A new code structure based on SPC product codes is introduced. This structure involves interleaving between the encoding of each dimension. Weight distribution analysis is used ...

An Improved New Structure of Single Parity Check Product Codes

This paper proposes an improved new structure of Single Parity Check (SPC) product codes with an embedded interleaver. The complexity of decoding the new SPC product codes is the same as the one of the existing single parity check product codes by use of the message passing algorithm. Simulation results and bound analysis demonstrate a significant bite error rate (BER) performance improvement c...

Analysis of sum-product decoding of low-density parity-check codes using a Gaussian approximation

Density evolution is an algorithm for computing the capacity of low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes under messagepassing decoding. For memoryless binary-input continuous-output additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels and sum-product decoders, we use a Gaussian approximation for message densities under density evolution to simplify the analysis of the decoding algorithm. We convert the i...

Study on Successive Cancellation Decoding of Polar Codes

Thanks to the property of provably capacityachieving, the recently-discovered polar codes are being taken many attentions. The Successive Cancellation (SC) is the first and widely known decoding for polar codes. In the paper, we study the decoding beginning with its recursive formula. Compared with previous works, our study is more strict and many fresh results are presented which would be help...

Capacity-Achievability of Polar Codes under Successive Cancellation List Decoding

Polar codes under successive cancellation decoding proposed by Ar{\i}kan provably achieve the symmetric capacity of any given binary-input discrete memoryless channel. The successive cancellation list decoder for polar codes was described by Tal and Vardy as a generalization of the successive cancellation decoder of Ar{\i}kan. The performance of the successive cancellation list decoder is encou...
